Flexible workforces are key for providing “right sizing” for adjusting business demands, are highly effective and do not operate as the traditional Float Pools or PRN Programs. Today, approximately 60% of operating costs are attributed to labor. Best staffing-to-census alignment practices have become a critical and competitive organizational imperative.
Although flexible workforce participants are appropriately incented to perform consistently, participant performance is based on meeting YOUR needs between competencies, multiple shifts, days, locations and patient ratios. The cost is far less expensive than agency rates and produces a quick return on investment.
Our customized flexible workforce programs are not designed as the traditional internal pools and registries, but exist more as an “Internal Agency,” producing higher employee engagement, accountability and retention within an organization.
Safe Nurse staffing poses substantial issues at the clinical level including its tremendous impact on patient mortality, patient satisfaction, increased incidence of medical errors and nurse dissatisfaction and burnout.
A “one size fits all” solution to safe nursing is doubtful. Political and socio-economic powers will have to merge to create a solution conducive to both financial and physical strain of nurse staffing issues.
